We can train the new hire or existing employees and provide you with the documentation of that training for the employee’s file.  If you have a training department, we can support their efforts with consistent training and create custom courses specific to your company with your branding.  Courses include OSHA, Orientation, Sales, Refuse Equipment Operations, Maintenance, and Supervisor Training.  Operational Training can be general or manufacturer specific and purchased individually or in groups by job position.

TYPES OF TRAINING

New Hires can complete the required OSHA courses along with any courses associated with their job position (i.e. refuse driver operations).  We have orientation courses (i.e. sales) designed for hires new to the industry to bring them up to speed faster with the industry terminology, types of vehicles, and types of containers.

Individual Courses are ideal for cross training.  If you are training a new hire for a front loader and would like to cross train on a rear loader, then add the individual rear load course to the front load group listed in the “Courses Grouped by Position”.

Annual Training is designed after the “Courses Grouped by Position”.  These are highlights to reinforce what was learned when initially hired and will also include any updates in regulations or company policies (custom course).

Refresher Training for a driver or other employee showing signs of bad habits.  It could be one of our current courses, say PPE, or an upcoming course dealing with backing, speeding, or multi-tasking all specific to the waste industry.

COURSES GROUPED BY POSITION

Office Staff can complete their OSHA training to include Fire Safety and if they are new to the industry our orientation courses would be helpful.

Sales Training on compactors and when they are a viable option for the customer.

Drivers can take a course on how to operate the equipment they will be assigned along with the “Driver Responsibilities”, “Spill Control”, “Do’s and Don’ts”, etc.

Ideal for the Roll Off, Front Load, Rear Load, or Automated Side Load Driver.

Maintenance Personnel have an orientation course on the do’s and don’ts of the equipment.  The Lockout Tagout course reviews using safety props and how to de-energize the hydraulic system in general terms.  There are also courses from specific manufacturers regarding equipment maintenance and repair.

Supervisor courses are designed for existing or first time supervisor.  Give them the tools to succeed by providing the basics, such as Accident Investigation (and why it’s important), overview of how to manage employees, Time Management, and a guideline for the new hire.

Would you like to provide training to your Customers or Dealers?  It’s an ideal partnership since we talk your language and understand your needs and the needs of the customer.  We have the experience with drivers, maintenance personnel, sales, and office staff to help guide you when building courses.  Help defer the training cost by having WIT host your courses and market them to the waste industry.  Custom courses can be branded to give it the look and feel of your company.  Earn revenue as an “Industry Partner” by promoting all of our training courses (i.e. OSHA) to your customers.

Manufacturers have two audiences for training, internal and external.

Internal Training:  This would be employees and dealers of the manufacturer.  The course development would be paid by the manufacturer along with hosting services and documentation fees (if applicable).  An example would be training the sales personnel and dealers on new products and how to sell the product.

External Training:  The manufacturer’s customer would be the audience.  There are two ways to present this training, with or without passwords.

1. NO PASSWORDS:  This method cannot be documented as to who has taken the course or the test scores.  The manufacturer would place a link on their website navigating the user directly to the course.  There would be a monthly hosting charge for unlimited use along with a course development fee.

2. PASSWORD PROTECTED:  This method allows for documentation of the training to be sent to the manufacturer, the end-user, or both.  Documentation can include test scores, test attempts, time spent on the course, and the number of times the course was taken by the individual.

Once you have your employees trained by WIT, place our seal on your website to acknowledge your training efforts of the employees and customers.
