WIT would like to promote safety within the waste industry while creating public awareness, by offering mourning arm bands. It is suggested these be worn by employees for three work days when there is a fatality in our industry, showing respect, solidarity, and awareness. It is offered through a non-profit organization, WasteIndustry.org. A portion of the proceeds will go toward a fund to help the deceased workers families of our fellow workers in the industry.
